BOOT SCOOTIN'

I loved these guys just sitting on the roof overseeing whatever? The shadows were what caught my eye. I just fell in love with the shapes. This is a pastel on board.

HUBBLE BUBBLE, HERE COMES TROUBLE

These two little boys are my great nephews. They had these bubble pipes, & could not get the bubbles to come out, try as they might. I took several pictures of them at this popular seaside area in Sydney a few years ago. I ended up making up the bubbles in my painting. It was great fun to see the boys come to life. This painting is entered in a pastel competition, wish me luck.

HARVEST TIME, SPICEWOOD VINEYARDS

These Mexican workers were picking grapes when I spied them, & took their photos. they were not thrilled with a photographer taking shots, & I made sure that the back of them was taken rather than the front views, that seemed to appease their unease. I have painted these guys in different poses before, in acrylic, but this one is in pastel on board.

AFTERNOON RITUAL, AJIJIC MEXICO

These old men congregate every afternoon in the square in Ajijic. It was a wonderful subject for artists, I am sure they are drawn & painted regularly, & probably enjoy it very much.
This painting was done from a photo in my studio back here in Austin, & is a pastel on sanded board.
