Iao Stream

Another pastel of the Iao stream, there is so much to paint in this valley, vistas and close focus subject matter, an artist could spend his/her whole life there and still not get enough in the way of subjects.

Iao Valley SOLD!

This is a small pastel of the beautiful Iao Valley on Maui where I lived for many years.
I used to hike this valley a lot, and swim in the rapids upstream, it is a wonderful area of the island and if one gets upstream far enough, they can have some very peaceful and private times up there. I painted a lot from this area, taking my macaw up with me, she loved it..

Villa Antonia 11 SOLD

Another of the same place that day, phew it was hot though. I was dripping after this session.

Villa Antonia 1 SOLD

This is a small plein aire painting done at this wonderful wedding reception place on the outskirts of Austin. It's an early painting of mine, maybe a year and a half ago.
I had not been doing many plein aire paintings when I did this one, it was all new to me. It's a very small painting and done in acrylics.
I recall it was a real challenge with the heat that day, however it was a great day with a lot of fun artists.

A Beauty to Behold

This gal was partially out of my head I have to admit. I did see her sitting with a group, and memorized her to draw later. She was not quite as wild as I made her, but she certainly was a big girl. I loved the posture, that is what attracted me in the first place.

Legs 11

This guy was long and skinny, he seemed to be all scrunched in his chair, knees tucked up with his book in lap, looked awkward to me. This is a very quick sketch, he got up and left in about 10 minutes, so I had to 'fill in the blanks' so to speak after he left.

The New Yorker

He had that typical confidence of a New York city resident. Large and a little 'gruff'.Fun to draw though.

The Chair Filler

This guy completely filled his comfy chair, in fact he overlapped a little. tee hee.
