Texas artist Rae Andrews, paintings in all media and genre. She is an Australian ex-pat who moved to Maui in the early 1990's where she owned two art galleries .. she now resides in Texas where she conducts workshops both in the USA, Australia and Europe.
I loved doing this one, although I did finish it sometime ago, it's still fresh in my mind . The colors kept me happy and the fernery kept me on my toes, a little like a tangled ball of wool to work out. Enjoy.
Oh what a good idea to interject some color! The green gets pretty boring. I always feel like I need permission to go outside the box. I guess you just gave it to me; thank you Rae!!
I particularly love the palm ones. I hadn't seen any of your palms before. I just photographed some palms in the Botanic Gardens for a big oil pastel drawing (perhaps) for our exhibition there.

I've always said I'd never paint anything patterned like an Oriental rug, drapes, furniture, etc., then you do this beautiful fern!
