Texas artist Rae Andrews, paintings in all media and genre. She is an Australian ex-pat who moved to Maui in the early 1990's where she owned two art galleries .. she now resides in Texas where she conducts workshops both in the USA, Australia and Europe.

Do I recognize the flowers from the Lake Chapala Water Garden Society's garden? I know they grow here as well... I like the white better than the peach background, and love the drama and mystery of the black behind it all! What are you using to go over the white areas, acrylic?
Thanks Janine and Sue. Yes Sue, some photo reference might have come for our trip to Mexico together, but I did have several photos from Hawaii and Galveston as well of these flowers. Yes again, I began this on Wednesday while painting with you and Janine.
I am using white acrylic paint to go over the peach color background. I prefer it as it is more opaque than gesso for example.
