Ripples

I plan on doing a whole series of this type of imagery in readiness for a solo show at the end of this year. Yikes! That's a lot of painting to get done.. sigh!

I have vacillated way too much on this show and what I will do for it, oh the pressure.:((

I think you all know how much I love water, in any form and movement,  so this series ( I hope) will have a lot of the patterns water ripples make when a pond is disturbed.

I also may do some other images from the landscape  using this kind of pattern making technique, unrelated to water, but first things first, at least till I get used to this new subject matter.

I love the implied texture, the movement and the mystery of this sort of scene.Whether it is the bark of a tree or water, it 'moves my soul'.

I am striving to a more abstract imagery and plan these paintings to be executed in a variety of mediums, oils, acrylics, pastels, but as I mentioned, lots of WORK!!

So stayed tuned and I hope you like my first practice effort.

This is a pastel on velour 19.5 x 27.5" (unframed)

$450
