Venice Boats

Of course while in Venice we took a  gondola through the canals.

We were sooo lucky that our trip was about a month prior to the HUGE Venice flods! Phew!

We had wonderful weather, spent two nights and three days in this gorgeous city before our cruise  to the Greek Islands.
Our hotel was very central. We caught water taxis to various landmarks, easy breezy.

Of course there is a lot of walking in Venice also, but this city is still possibly my favorite European city of all.

Pure magic for an artist. The reflections at sunset are divine.

My little 5.5 x 7" sketch hardly does the city and it's gorgeousness justess, but you get the idea I am sure.

Again, this is with watercolor markers, and I did a bit of hatching and cross hatching to bring up the values as well.
