WHERE THE SKY MEETS THE SEA was begun yesterday while painting with a friend.
I had a great time with her, discussing possible compositional strategies and color. Always fun to paint with like minded people.
This is a 12 x 24" oil on gallery wrap canvas.
Once again I played with two merged photos on my IPad in Sketch Club, embellishing with elements like the houses which were not in either photo and different, more vibrant colors. I then transferred a rough underpainting of the IPad picture onto my canvas, blocking in colors and shapes in a very broad way until I ended up with this.
Voila! WHERE THE SKY MEETS THE SEA is born.
If you have an IPad I highly recommend this Sketch Club app, it is a great addition to your art kit.
