Mystery...Pastel Abstract...Texas Artist...Rae Andrews

This was a larger painting on Richeson board and I decided to cut it down and make two from it. This is one half.
I used a white Richeson board and threw my acrylics onto the surface to float and make shapes. Then I dried it and began to assess the 'damage'.

I began with a loose drawing of coconuts and palm fronds, and as the painting progressed it became more and more abstract.
I love it when the painting governs the artist, the hard part is not fighting it in the process and having fun with it.
