Water Patterns..Watercolor ans Fluid Acrylics..Texas Artist..Rae Andrews

I just felt like playing today. 

This one began from nothing at all in mind, and I just experimented with Fluid Acrylics, and let them flow on the page, helped by my blow dryer.

I dried it completely then and began to find my lily shape into and over the paints. 

With negative painting I brought my flowers and lily pads into focus.
                                                                    Great fun.

This one just painted itself really..  I knew I was going to paint  flowers, but had no clue what type.
I stuck to a very limited palette and threw colors on my pre wet surface first. . Later I found where to place my flowers.

I loved painting this urban sketch. The house I believe was in Alaska. Although it was not as tumbledown as this image shows, that's just me and my deliberate distortion I have been playing with in these sketches.

This one was done earlier this year, after my Spain trip. I just love placing geometry within my floral watercolors especially. Somehow it seems to draw the eye to the subject for me. It also stops me from moving into the white areas and overpainting.

  This watercolor was fun to paint.. I threw a few colors onto a Crescent Watercolor Panel and waited till it dried. 

I then referred  to my photos of chickens a roosters, and began to find areas I could place them.

My intention was not to be literal, merely lost and found. A surprise so to speak.
