Well I am finally posting again after a sad time in my life. My husband passed away July 14th and I have not been able to paint at all for a couple of weeks, unheard of for me.

This one is on  crescent Watercolor Panel.

It measures 20" x 30" and is presented unframed.

Into The Light..Watercolor..Texas Artist..Rae Andrews

I was watching Game of Thrones one night a few weeks ago and this scene popped up, so I quickly took a snapshot of it.. of course I did embellish the light and the color so my image is quite different to what I actually saw .

I used a Crescent Watercolor Board for this one.

The image is unframed.

Lemon Glow..Watercolor..Texas Artist..Rae Andrews

I did this one yesterday as a demo for a one day workshop here in my studio. It was lovely to see old friends and students.
The lesson was on loosely saving the white of the paper .. Not easy to master and it takes practice however  everyone did very well.
Made Mamma proud!

I am sorry I have not posted in a few days, I was attending a fun workshop with Mary Ann Beckwith..

I think there will be a few abstracts coming up in my future posts.. She LOVES color as do I, and I was enthralled with our daily fun!

I have a lot of unfinished pieces I need to complete, so keep an eye out..

However, this painting was one I had almost finished prior to that workshop, and I just made a few changes on it today ready to post.

It's a watercolor on Arches paper unframed.

Rim Light...Landscape..Pastels...Texas Artist...Rae Andrews

Call me a romantic, but don't you just love to watch the clouds form especially with an approaching storm?

Well I do.. :))

I had no reference with this one, I just 'felt' the clouds and the movement. 

Pastels are such a great medium to portray seascapes and skyscapes. One can 'sculpt' the shapes so seductively, it's as though the artist can become one with the image.

See I told you I was a romantic..
